Life Care Solutions is a team of dedicated professionals who use their expertise and experience to ensure our clients' quality of life is maintained or improved.
Sheila Schmidt, MBA
Prior to Life Care Solutions, Sheila spent 17 years in corporate telecom, negotiating contracts for Fortune 500 clients and advising CIO’s and technology executives regarding telecom procurement strategy. For the last 5 years, Sheila was a General Manager of a consulting practice for a company in San Diego. Sheila valued the people that she met and the experience that she gained during these years, but she felt called to make a difference and re- focus on work that directly helps people. This calling intensified while serving as Medical Power of Attorney for a close family member who experienced a rapid decline due to Alzheimer’s. Sheila experienced first-hand the guilt, anxiety and stress that can come with navigating a health crisis of a loved one, and she knew that she had found her passion to ease the burden of these situations. She is thrilled to be serving individuals and families through Care Management. Sheila is certified to be an assisted living administrator and has earned her Certificate of Professional Advancement in Gerontology at UCCS. Sheila earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Bucknell University, and then earned her Master of Business Administration and Master of International Business from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Erik has seventeen years of business experience in finance and management. Over his career, he helped secure over $1 billion in public financing with a Denver based investment bank, managed a $200 million business unit for a fortune 500 company, and consulted on the strategy and build out of a South African fiber optic network for the largest cellular communications company in Africa. In 2011, Erik decided that he wanted to pursue a career that had a greater social impact. While helping his family manage his grandparents’ affairs and twenty four hour home care, he saw first-hand the need for quality support of senior individuals. He and his wife Sheila acquired Life Care Solutions in 2014 after searching for an area of the senior care industry that helps people navigate the myriad of care options and provides the type of objective and professional guidance on which family members can rely. Erik has a BSBA in accounting from Bucknell University, has completed the Colorado State Certification for Administrators of Assisted Living Communities, and earned a Certificate of Professional Advancement in Gerontology at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. Erik is particularly interested in the neurological effects of aging and how to cope with the changes people experience.
